Promoting peripheral regions - strengthening local prospects
Many peripheral regions in Switzerland are facing structural challenges: jobs are being lost, young people are moving away, and local value creation is declining. At the same time, these regions have strong communities, living traditions, and great potential for innovation. It is crucial that this potential is made visible and can be exploited.
The Linsi Foundation is committed to supporting peripheral regions where people expand their economic opportunities, take responsibility, and work together to create sustainable living spaces. We promote projects that strengthen regional value creation, enable new entrepreneurial and social initiatives, and make community engagement visible and effective—so that peripheral regions remain—or become once again—places where people enjoy living, working, and returning to.
Vibrant peripheral regions emerge where people can work together to shape economic prospects and social cohesion.
Our fields of action
Regional value creation and economic resilience
We support projects that strengthen regional economic cycles, promote their products and services, and enable local economic stability.
Economic diversity and capacity for innovation
We promote initiatives that develop new business models, partnerships, or entrepreneurial activities in peripheral regions, thereby creating opportunities for skilled workers, young people, and returnees.
Community cohesion and active participation
We support projects that reduce social isolation in remote regions, promote local identity, and empower people to actively shape their environment.
Our Commitment
The Klangweg (or sound trail) Toggenburg is a success story that is known far beyond the borders of Switzerland. It is characterized by integration and focuses on the themes of nature and culture, society, art and science.
