2024 - 2026

A small specialist organisation with a big impact

Story

Report: Ms S. | January–December 2025

Ms S. (62) had to give up her long-standing career as a physiotherapist following a brain injury. The resulting limitations and financial losses made it necessary for her to find a suitable part-time role to supplement her pension. The aim of the support was to achieve sustainable vocational integration with the help of job coaching.

In the spring, Ms S. completed her first taster days at a bistro, gaining experience in service, the kit-chen and behind the bar. It became clear that she was better suited to organisational and practical tasks than to complex service duties. At the same time, applications were submitted to various sui-table businesses and further placement opportunities were prepared during her coaching sessions.

In the autumn, Ms S. finally secured a position in a café working around eight hours a week. Thanks to ongoing coaching and dedicated support staff, her integration went well. She grew increasingly con-fident, carried out her tasks reliably and coordinated her shifts independently until the end of 2025.

This enabled Ms S. to make a successful and sustainable return to the labour market. Selective sup-port is set to continue in 2026.

Vision

Wintegra works according to the Supported Employment approach. Individual one-to-one counselling identifies resources and potential, provides support with job applications and arranges suitable jobs, work placements or taster days. Job coaches support both employees and employers during the induction period and promote sustainable integration.

Vision

People aged 50 and over living on the poverty line should be able to improve their prospects in the labour market, develop new opportunities and find sustainable employment.

Description

Many people over 50, despite their experience and motivation, reach the limits of the job market. A lack of support and complex responsibilities make re-entry difficult.

Wintegra supports people over 50 with intellectual, physical or mental disabilities in entering the open labour market. The service is aimed in particular at people living on the poverty line who have no or only limited access to existing support services.

Impact

The project bridges an important gap between disability benefits, social assistance and the labour market. It strengthens self-efficacy, social participation and financial independence, and can reduce dependence on social assistance in the long term. In 2025, Wintegra, in collaboration with the Linsi Foundation, supported four people with disabilities on their journey back into the open labour market.
